Dan Aloni has joined WME, the agency announced Friday.
The highly regarded agent will be a partner in the motion picture department effective immediately.
He joins WME from CAA, where he was fired this week after CAA partner Richard Lovett became fed up with Aloni's failure to mesh with his colleagues, according to agency insiders.
As TheWrap reported exclusively this week, WME chief Ari Emanuel had numerous telephone conversations with Aloni in the months leading up to his departure. Emanuel had hoped to lure Aloni and his roster of high powered clients to WME.

Aloni represents "The Dark Knight" director Christopher Nolan, who left CAA within hours of the agent's departure. The speculation is that the director will land at Aloni's new home, although a WME spokesperson did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
In addition to Nolan, Aloni has worked with notable clients, including Jim Carrey, David Dobkin, Michel Gondry, David Goyer, Mandeville Films, Mike Meyers, Neil Moritz, Dean Parisot, Jay Roach, Chuck Roven and Tom Shadyac.
Prior to joining CAA in 2005, Aloni spent 11 years at UTA.
It is yet to be determined which clients will be joining him.
