DC Comics Comedy ‘Powerless’ Adds Danny Pudi, Alan Tudyk to Cast

NBC pilot stars Vanessa Hudgens in story of ordinary drones at an insurance company and their quest for power

NBC’s DC comic book comedy pilot “Powerless” has added Danny Pudi, Alan Tudyk and Christina Kirk as series regulars.

The Warner Bros. Television-produed sitcom is a single-camera office comedy set in the DC Comics universe, following the lives of the average employees at an insurance company and their quest to find their own power.

Ben Queen is writing and executive producing the pilot, with Michael Patrick Jann directing and executive producing.

Hudgens plays the lead role of Emily, an insurance adjuster. Pudi will play Teddy, her best friend and work confidant who tries to make their office slightly less “unsuper.”

Tudyk will play Del, Emily’s new boss, described as a power-mad disaster, and Kirk will play Jackie, a superhero superfan of a colleague.

Pudi, best known for his role on NBC’s “Community,” is represented by UTA and Velocity Entertainment. Tudyk, most recently seen in “Trumbo” and voicing a character in the upcoming “Zootopia,” is repped by Coronel Group. Kirk was a regular on NBC’s “A to Z” and is repped by The Kohner Agency and Circle of Confusion.
