‘Deadliest Catch’ Season Finale: Wanna See a Really Gruesome Broken Leg? (Exclusive Video)

Here’s what happens when a thousand-pound crab pod meets tibia

The title “Deadliest Catch” wasn’t just pulled out of a hat for Discovery’s hit deep-sea crabbing series.

On Tuesday’s season finale episode, Cody Rhodes (not to be confused with AEW’s Cody Rhodes) must be helicopter-lifted off of the F/V (Fishing Vessel) Karie Marie’s deck — but first, a Coast Guard rescue swimmer must get to him first.

Two hours earlier, Rhodes “took the falling force of a 1,000-pound steel crab pod to his left leg, twisting the flesh and bone, resulting in a gruesome spiral fracture of his fibula and tibia,” series narrator Mike Rowe tells us.

Yeah, it’s yucky — and TheWrap’s got your first look at the ugly aftermath.

Read below to find out what’s happening on the other boats:

After eight frozen weeks of pain, captains and crews fight through one last Bering Sea squall to bring their winter season to a close. Captain Sean Dwyer of the F/V Brenna A is blindsided by a rogue wave, sending his crew running for cover and putting his greenhorn between a pot and a hard place.

Captain Steve “Harley” Davidson of the F/V Southern Wind unleashes hell on his greenhorn and nephew Brady.

On the F/V Northwestern, Captain Sig Hansen gives daughter Mandy a final test at the helm: Find crab or prolong an already costly Opilio fishery.

On the F/V Cornelia Marie, Co-Captain’s Josh Harris and Casey McManus’s dream of attaining more quota is on the line as they race to offload their million dollar catch under a growing threat of dead loss.

“Deadliest Catch” airs Tuesdays at 8/7c on Discovery Channel.
