‘Deadwood’ Actress Molly Parker Joins NBC’s ‘The Firm’

Role as Mitch McDeere’s wife will reunite her with her “Shattered” co-star Callum Keith Rennie

Molly Parker, who played Alma Garret on the popular but short-lived HBO Western "Deadwood," has joined the cast of NBC's adaptation of John Grisham's "The Firm," NBC said Friday.

Parker will play Abby McDeere, wife of attorney Mitchell McDeere (who'll be played by "The Lincoln Lawyer" star Josh Lucas).

"Abby’s a true partner to Mitch — a smart, resourceful woman who after a tumultuous decade is excited to start a new life in Washington, D.C., as a school teacher," NBC said of the character.

Juliette Lewis and Callum Keith Rennie will also star in the series, which picks up 10 years after the 1993 Tom Cruise movie left off. Production for the series begins next month in Toronto.

Parker also had a starring run on the 2008 series "Swingtown," as well as a recurring role in the 2010 series "Shattered," which starred her new "Firm" castmate Rennie.
