Radio host Delilah’s son Zachariah died by suicide earlier this month, the syndicated host told her fans in a Facebook post Saturday. The New York Daily News reports that Zachariah was 18.

“My dear friends, I need to share some devastating news with you,” Delilah wrote. “In the early morning hours, Tuesday, October 3, my son, Zachariah, took his life.”

“He was being treated, counseled and embraced fiercely by family and friends while battling depression for some time now,” the post continued. “My heart is broken beyond repair, and I cannot fathom how to go on…but I have to believe he is at peace with the Lord and that God will get us through.”

The “Delilah” host, whose full name is Delilah Rene, said she will be absent from her syndicated radio show and social media for an unspecified period of time to grieve and comfort her family. Her nightly radio song request and dedication show will air repeats during the hiatus.

“I’ll look forward to my return, as you all lift me up so very much!” she continued. “Please pray for my beloved Zacky, and I will pray for all suffering from this debilitating disease called depression.”
