Within minutes of the announcement that Nevada Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto had won her reelection bid against Republican Adam Laxalt, keeping the Democrats in control of the US Senate, celebs and media figures took to Twitter to express their delight.

“So the Democrats hold the Senate. In other news, apparently the red wave has crashed against the rocks of reality,” veteran journalist Dan Rather tweeted.

“Frozen” actor Josh Gad quipped: “Man, I’ve never wanted to be at a Trump wedding more than tonight, Gad tweeted, referencing that Donald Trump was giving away his daughter Tiffany Trump at her wedding at Mar-a-Lago when the news was announced the Dems will hold the Senate.

Talking to reporters Saturday night, Pres. Joe Biden said this election might cause Republicans to reflect on whether they will continue as the party of Trump.

“The Republican Party is going to have to decide who they are,” Biden said, adding that the Democrats still “could” keep the House of Representatives after all ballots are counted in close races, but admitted that “it’s a stretch – everything has to fall our way.”
