Apple’s ‘Dickinson’ Trailer: Death Makes a Promise to Hailee Steinfeld’s Emily Dickinson (Video)

But, like, a nice one

Apple TV+ has dropped a new trailer for its upcoming comedy “Dickinson,” starring Hailee Steinfeld as the famous Emily Dickinson herself. In this sneak peek from the new series, Emily chats with one of her best buds: Death.

Played by Wiz Khalifa, the ominous presence tells Emily, “You’ll be the only Dickinson they talk about in 200 years. I promise you that.”

Aw, what a sweet guy! No wonder the real Emily Dickinson was so into him.

According to Apple TV+, “Dickinson” audaciously explores the constraints of society, gender and family from the perspective of rebellious young poet, Emily Dickinson (Steinfeld). Set in the 19th century, “Dickinson” is a coming-of-age story that finds Emily Dickinson to be an unexpected hero for our millennial era.

Created, written and executive produced by Alena Smith and executive produced by Steinfeld, “Dickinson” also stars Jane Krakowski, Toby Huss, Anna Baryshnikov, Ella Hunt and Adrian Blake Enscoe.

“Dickinson” will premiere with the launch of Apple TV+ on Nov. 1. The service is priced at $4.99 per month and will be free for one year when you buy a new iPhone, iPad, Apple TV, Mac or iPod Touch. The platform will offer a seven-day free trial when it debuts.

Other Apple TV+ shows available at launch include Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Aniston’s drama “The Morning Show,” Ronald D. Moore’s space-race drama “For All Mankind,” the Jason Momoa sci-fi series “See,” Sesame Workshop’s “Helpsters,” the Peanuts cartoon “Snoopy in Space,” a “reinvention” of the ’90s children’s mystery series “Ghostwriter” and the documentary film “Elephant Queen.” Oprah Winfrey’s book club will also be featured on the platform.
