Executives Winter and Sabin get promotions

Discovery and TLC announced the promotions of two top executives at their U.S. flagship networks on Tuesday.

Amy Winter was named general manager and executive vice president of TLC Networks, and Edward Sabin was named group chief operating officer of Discovery and TLC.  Both positions will report to group president Eileen O’Neill.

In her new role, Winter, who had served as TLC’s senior vice president of marketing/creative, will oversee “all aspects of programming, production, development, new media and marketing for Discovery Communications’ U.S. female-targeted flagship.”

Sabin, a former Fox Television executive, will have direct oversight of “all strategy, network operations, financial and business matters for Discovery’s two U.S. flagships, as well as integrated content and break strategy, research, talent management, and the company’s Continuing Medical Education business.” He previously served as COO of TLC.
