Discovery’s ‘Hard to Kill’ Premiere: MMA Stud Might Actually Die in This Airplane Stunt (Exclusive Video)

Tim Kennedy’s in a free fall on series debut

Tim Kennedy might be hard to kill, but we’re still worried about the MMA star’s life after watching this exclusive clip from the upcoming “Hard to Kill” series debut.

Move over “Dirty Jobs,” because Kennedy –an active, Ranger qualified, Green Beret, Special Forces Sniper who has served tours in Iraq, Afghanistan and a professional MMA fighter — is here to tackle some of the most dangerous jobs around.

“Hard to Kill” will put Kennedy in the shoes of the men and women who risk their lives everyday in the most risky and extreme jobs imaginable. Kennedy will work with experts in varying fields to learn the dedication it takes — whether he learns how to trigger avalanches at dizzying altitudes, protecting a cowboy from a 2,000 pound bull or pushing the boundaries of modern flight in the Mojave Desert.

At the end of each training, Kennedy will put his newly learned skills to the test… and to see how hard he is to kill, really.

In the clip above, Kennedy takes part in the Aggravated Spin Maneuver — it’s the same stunt that killed Goose in “Top Gun.” As explained in the clip, the maneuver cases the plane to rotate horizontally and spiral vertically. Because the plane is out of control, the only way for pilots to make it out alive is to keep track of the horizon.

Kennedy is tasked with keeping track of the Wasabi’s rotations… but he starts to look pretty dizzy after a few.

“Hard to Kill” is produced for Discovery by Karga 7 Pictures and executive produced by Sarah Wetherbee, Emre Sahin, Kelly McPherson, Jason Wolf and Chris Bray. For Discovery Channel, executive producer is Russ McCarroll.

Watch the video above.

“Hard to Kill” premieres Tuesday, July 31, at 10 p.m. on Discovery Channel.
