Discovery has hired Hulu’s head of content acquisition Lisa Holme, her boss Peter Faricy said Thursday on an earnings conference call. Discovery, Inc. followed that up with an official media announcement.

Holme will lead Discovery’s streaming content strategy. Here is her super-long official title: Group Senior Vice President, Content and Commercial Strategy, Direct-to-Consumer (DTC).

That’s going to be a lot to get on a business card.

In the newly created role, Holme is responsible for setting the content strategy for Discovery’s DTC products in the U.S., including the curation, commissioning and acquisition of content, the press release read. She will also manage commercial strategy, with a specific focus on distribution partners in alignment with Discovery’s ad sales teams.

“Discovery has excelled at delivering unique and entertaining content to a global fan base of customers,” Holme said Thursday in a statement. “I’m thrilled to join the team at this exciting moment as the company expands its direct-to-consumer presence, building on its success with additional high-quality programming that will reach consumers in a range of compelling, new ways.”

“Lisa brings an impressive track record of success in content to Discovery and will be a key leader as we scale our direct-to-consumer businesses,” Faricy, to whom Holme will report, said. “Lisa’s leadership of our DTC content strategy and commercial partnerships will further bolster Discovery’s position as the leader in unscripted entertainment across all platforms.”

Holme, who has been with Hulu since 2010, was previously a production executive at Illumination Entertainment. Prior to that, she was a business analyst at McKinsey & Company. Holme, who resides in Los Angeles, graduated from Yale in 2005. Her career began with an internship at Village Roadshow.

Faricy, who joined from Amazon, oversees all digital and direct-to-consumer businesses at Discovery, Inc. Most notable among the company’s offerings is Discovery GO, but other platforms include Motor Trend, Eurosport Player, Discovery Kids, Dplay and a partnership with the PGA Tour. Faricy reports directly to David Zaslav.
