Disney Interactive laid off about 50 employees from its online unit Wednesday, a person with knowledge of the situation told TheWrap.
The layoffs slashed about three percent of the division's 2,000-person unit. There were no pink-slipped employees in the company's video games group.
The online unit oversees Disney's various web properties, including Disney.com, Babble and Spoonful.com.
The layoffs, announced to employees Wednesday, are part of a "restructuring," the source told TheWrap. The action was similar to the reorganization that shed 200 jobs from the division in January 2011.
