‘Divergent’ First Look: Theo James as ‘Four’

Dystopian fantasy may be another "Hunger Games"

Theo James looks purposeful and ripped in a new teaser image from "Divergent," the dystopian fantasy that Lionsgate hopes will be another "Hunger Games."

James, a relative unknown, landed the lead role of Four in the  adaptation of Veronica Roth's bestselling young-adult novel.

The film is set to be released on March 21, 2014, is roughly the same slot in which Lionsgate unleashed "The Hunger Games" on the world.

"Divergent" unfolds in a futuristic world where people are divided into distinct factions based on their personalities. The plot kicks off when Tris Prior (Shailene Woodley of "The Descendants") is warned she is divergent and will never fit into any one group.

Four is the leader of one of the factions and eventually becomes Tris' love interest.

The teaser image doesn't reveal a heck of a lot about Four, but it appears that some kind of fight is taking place behind him.

James has appeared in "Underworld: Awakenings" and "Downton Abbey" and will likely see his profile rise with the film's release.

Neil Burger ("Limitless") is directing the film, which also stars Kate Winslet.
