‘Doctor Who’ Christmas Special Teaser: Time Lords Bicker, But New Doctor Jodie Whittaker Is MIA (Video)

The first look for “Twice Upon a Time” lacks an appearance from the 13th Doctor

All the “Doctor Who” fans in Whoville like Christmas a lot — mainly because the BBC America series’ Christmas special is something worth celebrating all on its own.

On Friday, a first look video for the special, titled “Twice Upon a Time,” was revealed and we’d bet a sonic screwdriver you’re gonna love it.

In the clip, which clearly comes from early on in the special (as new Doctor, Jodie Whittaker, is totally MIA), Peter Capaldi (the outgoing 12th Doctor) is seen welcoming his former self the First Doctor (David Bradley) and a World War One soldier known as the Captain (Mark Gatiss) onboard his “hideous” Tardis.

Whoa, what you calling “hideous,” Bradley?

As “Doctor Who” fans know, the next Doctor is always introduced in the Christmas special, and Whittaker’s 13th (and first female) Doctor will be no different. But you’re gonna have to wait just a bit longer to see her in action. Though, the show has already revealed a first look picture of Whittaker in her Doctor finest.

You can watch the short clip from the eagerly anticipated special above.

The “Doctor Who” Christmas special, “Twice Upon a Time,” will premiere on, you guessed it, Christmas, Dec. 25, on BBC America.
