‘Doctor Who’: The Doctor Still Hasn’t Grasped That She’s Female Now (Video)

“Does it suit me?” the Thirteenth Doctor asks her new companions

Hey, “Doctor Who” fans: has it sunk in yet that The Doctor is a woman now? If not, don’t worry, because it hasn’t for the Time Lord either.

In a sneak peek clip released by BBC of next week’s season premiere, we see the newly-regenerated Thirteenth Doctor in a situation much like the one The Doctor has faced over previous regenerations. The TARDIS has crash-landed on Earth, and The Doctor is immediately faced with another planet-endangering crisis that he must face with the help of some new companions, all while dealing with the amnesia and mental shock that comes with having every cell in your body renewing, including the chromosomes.

But even with such a dramatic change, some things still stay the same, like The Doctor striding towards whatever problem he/she is facing while rapidly firing questions to their bewildered companions. Questions like, “Why are you calling me madam?”

And when The Doctor is informed that she is a woman, she follows it up with another question: “Am I? Does it suit me? Sorry, half-an-hour ago I was a white-haired Scotsman.” And then, back to the matter at hand.

BBC will air the new episode, “The Woman Who Fell to Earth,” on BBC America at 1:45 p.m. ET on Oct. 7, the same time it premieres in Britain. Watch the new clip above.
