Consider the glass ceiling on Time Lordship shattered.
In a new promo for “Doctor Who,” the newest Doctor — and first-ever female Doctor — Jodie Whittaker literally breaks the glass ceiling.
Set to Macklemore’s “Glorious,” Whittaker looks up and a stained glass ceiling shatters. She then looks into the camera to give a cheeky, “Whoops.”
If this promo has you bloody excited, you can get your “Doctor Who” fix with a 13-day marathon on BBC America beginning Sept. 25. The network will air 143 original “Doctor Who” reboot episodes, and 240 total episodes airing, including repeats. You’ll be able to reacquaint yourself with former Doctors Christopher Eccleston, David Tennant, Matt Smith and Peter Capaldi … and realize just how long a wait it’s been for a female in the lead.
Whittaker is joined in Season 11 by Tosin Cole as Ryan, Mandip Gill as Yasmin, and Bradley Walsh as Graham.

“Doctor Who” Season 11 premieres on BBC America on Sunday, Oct. 7.
