Dolph Lundgren to Guest Star on ‘Arrow’

TCA 2016: Sharon Leal will also join “Supergirl” as Miss Martian

“Arrow” will welcome Dolph Lundgren in a guest star role this season, The CW announced Thursday at the Television Critics Association summer press tour.

Lundgren will play a villain on The CW show in a series of flashbacks set in Russia.

The actor is best known for playing Russian boxer Ivan Drago in “Rocky IV” and recently appearing as Gunnar in the “Expendables” franchise opposite Sylvester Stallone, a.k.a Rocky Balboa.

In addition, Sharon Leal will play Miss Martian on Season 2 of “Supergirl.” Leal is known for her roles in “Why Did I Get Married?” and “Why Did I Get Married Too?” She also appeared as Dahlia on “Guiding Light” and as Zuri Ellis on “Grimm.”

In the DC Comics universe, Miss Martian was a member of the Teen Titans. She has powers similar to those of Martian Manhunter, such as superhuman strength and powerful psychic and telekinetic abilities. The character previously appeared in the “Young Justice” animated series.

“Arrow” is going into its fifth season on The CW. The series stars Stephen Amell, Katie Cassidy, David Ramsey, Willa Holland and Emily Bett Rickards.

Greg Berlanti, Marc Guggenheim, Andrew Kreisberg, Wendy Mericle and Sarah Schechter serve as executive producers.

“Supergirl’s” first season aired on CBS, but moved to The CW for its upcoming Season 2. It stars Melissa BenoistChyler Leigh, Mechad Brooks, Jeremy Jordan, David Harewood and Calista Flockhart.

Berlanti and Schechter executive produce “Supergirl” as well, along with Ali Adler and Andrew Kreisberg.
