Donald Trump Jr. took to Twitter to mock James Comey’s testimony before the Senate Intelligence Committee on Thursday, taking issue with the former FBI director admitting he had a friend leak information to the media.
Did I miss something or did Comey just say he asked a friend to leak information to the press? Is this a joke?

Trump Jr. didn’t “miss something” — he heard it correctly.
Comey admitted that he provided details about an Oval Office conversation he had with President Trump regarding Michael Flynn to a friend. He said he did so with the purpose of sharing it to the media.
“As a private citizen, I felt free to share that,” Comey said. “I thought very important to get it out.”
The president’s son responded to this comment on Twitter.
Washington DC at its finest. This is what America rallied against, but the DC elite don't get it or know any other way. https://t.co/H5SszE4uL4

Comey said he gave the information to a third party because handing it directly to the media would be like “feeding seagulls at the beach,” and he wanted privacy with his wife.
“I asked my friend to make sure this gets out,” Comey said.
Trump Jr. also sent a series of tweets and retweets related to Marco Rubio pointing out that it was never leaked that the president wasn’t personally under investigation.
Solid point and seems rather convenient for the partisan nonsense we have seen play out for months. https://t.co/PpYkSVRzmA

Because if it was leaked that @realDonaldTrump was personally not under investigation- it would have crushed the entire narrative. pic.twitter.com/drFcCxin5M
