Stephen Colbert and his “Late Show” audience spent part of Thursday loudly celebrating special counsel Robert Mueller’s obstruction of justice investigation into President Donald Trump.

The CBS studio audience burst into big cheers when the 11:35 p.m. host recapped the events of the prior evening during his monologue.

“This is a huge moment. This is a historic moment. The President of the United States is under criminal investigation,” Colbert said. “When the movie comes out, this will definitely be in it, and I will definitely be played by Hugh Jackman. I’ll still have the claws.”

“Mueller is not kidding around here. To find out what happened, he has put together what’s been described as an all-star legal team,” he continued. “Mueller’s like Batman, putting together The Flash, Green Lantern and Wonder Woman to create ‘The Obstruction of Justice League.’”

“I’d watch that movie,” Colbert added.

So would we, though Marvel’s “Wolverine” probably won’t make an appearance in the DC Comics spinoff. Watch the video above.
