Donald Trump With ‘Spinal Tap’ Audio Goes Up to 11 (Video)

Watch Donald Trump explain why his crowd sizes are so big, in Nigel Tufnel’s voice

Donald Trump goes up to 11 in a new parody that replaces his voice with that of Spinal Tap guitarist Nigel Tufnel.

In a remix by BuzzFeed’s Jesse McLaren, Trump’s voice is replaced with that of Christopher Guest, who played the self-absorbed musician at the center of Rob Reiner’s classic 1984 mockumentary, “This Is Spinal Tap.” (As the video gained online traction Thursday, McLaren tweeted to Reiner, “I am so so so sorry.”

If you’re not a Spinal Tap fan, this whole thing will probably make more sense to you if you start by watching the original scene from the 1984 film, above.

Are you back? Pretty good scene, right? Now watch this clip from Trump’s interview Wednesday with ABC News’ David Muir, in which Trump fudges some numbers just a bit, with the “Spinal Tap” audio added:

The video comes after a weekend in which Trump reportedly pressured the National Park Service to play along with his attempt to amplify the size of the crowd at his inauguration.

Trump’s team also had a little fun with social media Thursday: White House press secretary Sean Spicer tweeted out the baffling message “n9y25ah7,” sparking a lot of speculation about whether it was some kind of secret code … or he just left the Twitter app open when he put his phone in his pocket.
