Donny Deutsch Says Elizabeth Warren Has a ‘Likability Issue’

“I think she would get trounced in a landslide by Trump and I think people are sensing that,” Deutsch said on Wednesday’s “Morning Joe”

Donny Deutsch trended on Twitter Wednesday after declaring himself “too woke” and Sen. Elizabeth Warren unlikable during an appearance on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe.”

The comments came after Willie Geist cited a new poll that showed Warren’s support in the presidential race being cut in half in just a month, prompting Deutsch to point out he’s been saying “this all along.”

“I’ve taken some heat. I do not think she’s electable. I think she would get trounced in a landslide by Trump and I think people are sensing that,” he said.

Deutsch described Warren as having “high-school principal demeanor,” adding “this is not a gender thing.”

Geist pointed out that she was doing better in polling before putting out her healthcare policy plans.

Former treasury official Steve Rattner also offered a counter to Deutsch’s argument, calling Warren “formidable” and “a natural” before saying he’d like to see more than one single poll before drawing any real conclusions about the trajectory of her electability.

He was immediately called out by political analyst Karine Jean-Pierre, who called his comments “problematic” because “it’s always connected to women candidates.”

Deutsch protested loudly, insisting he also doesn’t like Sen. Bernie Sanders. “Maybe I’m too woke but when I say somebody is not likable, I’m not bringing gender into it,” he said.
