‘Don’t Worry, He Won’t Get Far on Foot’ Trailer: Joaquin Phoenix Brings Another Tour de Force (Video)

CinemaCon 2018: Amazon hypes its next film with Phoenix as a wheelchair-bound cartoonist

Joaquin Phoenix has been a big name for Amazon Studios, having recently starred in the Cannes hit “You Were Never Really Here.” Now, this summer, Amazon will bring another Phoenix performance to the screen with “Don’t Worry, He Won’t Get Far On Foot,” a Gus Van Sant film that sees the actor play a wheelchair-bound cartoonist.

In the new trailer that premiered at CinemaCon in Las Vegas, audiences got to see the true story of John Callahan, played by Phoenix, who goes to counseling to deal with his alcoholism. Along the way, he meets a fellow alcoholic named Donnie (Jonah Hill), who introduces himself at the rehab meeting by saying “I was having a great day until I had to stand here in front of all of you!”

Also starring Rooney Mara and Jack Black, the film has earned rave reviews at Sundance and Berlin, with praise for Van Sant’s screenplay, which he worked on with Callahan. The film arrives in theaters July 13. Watch the trailer in the video above.
