Dr. Oz’s family of shows is growing: “The Good Dish,” a new one-hour, syndicated series based on weekly segments featured on “The Dr. Oz Show,” has been ordered by Sony Pictures Television, with Dr. Mehmet Oz’s daughter, Daphne Oz, set as one of its co-hosts.

Also hosted by Vanessa Williams, Gail Simmons and Jamika Pessoa, “The Good Dish” will “provide simple shortcuts, everyday recipes and trends that will make life easier, bring families together, save money and most importantly…figure out what’s for dinner.”

If readers don’t get the title’s pun yet, here it is spelled out for you: “The influential hosts dish on entertaining topics of the day while preparing delectable dishes.”

The show is set to debut in Fall 2020.

“We have experienced overwhelming feedback from our audiences on ‘The Dish on Oz’ cooking segments, which have been recently featured on ‘The Dr. Oz Show,’” said John Weiser, president of first-run television for Sony Pictures Television. “When Daphne Oz and this all-star ensemble were available, we recognized the opportunity for viewers, advertisers, and local broadcast stations. We have on-air tested this format and talent for two years perfecting this show we are now bringing to market. Spinoffs have the highest success rate of converting into multi-year franchises. In fact, spinoffs gave us the great Dr. Oz straight from Oprah!”

“I am so excited to have this opportunity to return to daytime television with a show that highlights food and conversation worth celebrating,” Daphne Oz said. “I’m thrilled to be working with Vanessa, Gail and Jamika to offer viewers a unique perspective on how to tell our stories and share our traditions through the recipes that make us feel at home.”

Williams added, “Our hope is to fill the ‘Good Dish’ with inspiration, expert opinions, and daily delicious fun with friends that will bring everyone to the table.”

“The Good Dish” will be executive produced by Amy Chiaro and Stacy Rader, the team that oversees “The Dr. Oz Show.” The show is produced by Dr. Mehmet Oz’s production company, ZoCo Productions, and will be distributed by Sony Pictures Television.
