‘Dr Who: Flux’ Season 13 Trailer: Jodie Whittaker Warns Viewers to Get Ready for ‘the Fight of Our Lives!’ (Video)

Whittaker’s final season playing the iconic Doctor premieres on Oct. 31

A thrilling new teaser for “Dr. Who” has fans of the beloved sci-fi series on the edge of their seats.

On Saturday, the BBC unveiled the first trailer for the show’s 13th season, which will be Jodie Whittaker’s final time helming the titular role. She will also appear in three specials next year before she hangs up her hat for good.

Speaking directly into the camera, Dr. Who tells viewers to listen carefully: “We don’t have much time.” The screen glitches and warps and she warns that “the Flux is coming,” bringing with it a host of “enemies from across the universe.” Before the screen cuts out, she urges viewers to get ready for “the fight of our lives!”

The new season will see Dr. Who and Yaz, played by Mandip Gill crossing paths with two new companions. The series will contain 8 episodes which are connected to a larger story.

Thirteen actors have played the Doctor since the BBC One launched the series in 1963. Whittaker, the 17th in the lineup, is the first woman to take on the role. Along with Whittaker, showrunner Chris Chibnall will be leaving after the new season. He is to be replaced by Russell T. Davies. Despite much speculation by fans, the casting of the new Doctor is yet to be announced.
