Netflix’s ‘Dracula’ Teaser: Claes Bang Is a Sexy Vampire – Everything Else in This Is Gross (Video)

Streaming service sets January launch date for miniseries

Netflix has released the first teaser for its upcoming miniseries “Dracula,” a co-production with BBC One, starring Claes Bang as the titular vampire.

And in this video, which you can view above, Bang is incredibly seductive as the legendary bloodsucking count, while everything else that goes on is incredibly disturbing. (Note the fingernail being peeled off of a rotting hand. Why??)

Yeah, if you’re into sexy vampires and grotesque horror, this adaptation of the classic Bram Stoker novel from “Sherlock” creators Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss is definitely for you.

The teaser also reveals that the miniseries will launch on Netflix Jan. 4, which is just three days after it premieres on BBC One in the U.K.

The three-part 90-minute mini-series is written, executive produced and created by Moffat and Gatiss, and will re-introduce the world to Dracula, the vampire who made evil sexy. Per Netflix, “From the makers of Sherlock, the Count Dracula legend transforms with new tales. Claes Bang stars as Dracula in this brand-new series inspired by Bram Stoker’s classic novel.”

The series was commissioned by Charlotte Moore, Director of BBC Content and Piers Wenger, Controller of BBC Drama. Moffat and Gatiss executive produce alongside Sue Vertue for Hartswood Films, Ben Irving for BBC and Larry Tanz for Netflix.

“Dracula” premieres Jan. 4 on Netflix.
