Matt Drudge used his powerful platform on Friday to bash an old ally, Breitbart News chief and former White House adviser Steve Bannon.
On his website, Drudge linked to a piece from The Hill, with the message, “BANNON REVOLUTION ‘HELPS DEMS.’”
The conservative media stalwart then followed up with an even blunter tweet:

The piece by Hill opinion contributor Mark Plotkin, claims that Bannon’s promised wars against incumbent GOP senators will only serve to deliver the body to Democrats in 2018.
Since being expelled from the White House in August, Bannon has returned to Breitbart and increasingly turned the website against GOP Senate leader Mitch McConnell and other totems of the Republican establishment.
While Drudge rarely issues public comment, his editorial decisions on the Drudge Report are widely seen a a barometer of his mood and bellwether of conservative opinion.
The Hill piece suggests that if Bannon goes ahead with his promise to mount primary challenges to incumbent Republicans like Alabama’s Luther Strange, who just lost his re-election bid to another Republican, he won’t have Drudge’s lockstep support.
