Dwayne Johnson Moves to Los Angeles in ‘Ballers’ Season 4 First Look Trailer (Video)

HBO sets premiere date for sports comedy and Issa Rae’s “Insecure”

HBO announced the premiere date for two of its popular comedies Thursday.

Season 4 of Dwayne Johnson’s “Ballers” and Season 3 of Issa Rae’s “Insecure” will premiere on Sunday, Aug. 12, at 10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., respectively.

On the new season of “Ballers,” Spencer (Johnson) and Joe (Rob Corddry) make the move to the left coast to take on Los Angeles.

“L.A. can be a dark place, brother,” Spencer says prophetically in the first look trailer (watch it above). We’re treated to plenty of SoCal shots full of palm trees, mansions and beaches as the business buddies hash out a new plan to become media titans. John David Washington also stars with Omar Benson Miller, Donovan Carter, Troy Garity, London Brown, Jazmyn Simon and Brittany S. Hall.

Creator Steve Levinson executive produces with Johnson, Mark Wahlberg, Dany Garcia, Peter Berg, Rob Weiss, Julian Farino, Denis Biggs and Karyn McCarthy.

In the third season of “Insecure,” Issa and Molly (Yvonne Orji) continue their best friendship and navigate through an endless series of awkward moments. Jay Ellis also stars with Lisa Joyce, Y’lan Noel, Natasha Rothwell and Amanda Seales. Rae created the series with Larry Wilmore, and the comedy is executive produced by Rae, Prentice Penny, Melina Matsoukas, Michael Rotenberg, Dave Becky, Jonathan Berry, Dayna Lynne North and Jim Kleverweis.
