Dylan O’Brien has signed on to star in “Little White Corvette,” a brother-sister action-comedy that was developed as a starring vehicle for Emma Stone, TheWrap has learned.

The long-gestating project, which has bounced around from MRC to Columbia Pictures, just landed at 20th Century Fox, the studio behind O’Brien’s popular “Maze Runner” series.

Iain Morris (“The Inbetweeners”) is in talks to direct from a script by Michael Diliberti. Graham King will produce under his GK Films banner, while 20th Century Fox executives Emma Watts and Jason Young will oversee the project on behalf of the studio.

The story follows a nerdy young man and his wild older sister who find a significant amount of cocaine in the trunk of their late father’s Corvette. They head down to Miami to sell the drugs but find themselves pursued by police and a mysterious man driving a Dodge.

Stone was attached to star for years as producers tried in vain to find her a suitable brother. With Stone gone, the filmmakers decided to cast the brother role first, and they’ll now search for O’Brien’s sister.

“Teen Wolf” star O’Brien will next be seen alongside Mark Wahlberg and Gina Rodriguez in Peter Berg‘s “Deepwater Horizon.” He’s represented by WME, while UTA reps Morris.
