EBF & Associates, PalmStar Media Capital Join Forces to Form Merced Media

The new venture plans to invest in about 15 films a year

EBF & Associates, a private investment firm, and Kevin Frakes’ PalmStar Media Capital have formed Merced Media Partners, a film financing company, the new partners announced on Friday.

The new venture plans to invest in about 15 films a year. Merced has so far invested $20 million in financing for an initial slate of pictures, including director Amy Berg's “Every Secret Thing,” starring Diane Lane and Elizabeth Banks, and “Careful What You Wish For,” starring Isabel Lucas.

Merced recently closed on a structured facility for some of Exclusive Media’s upcoming titles, the first of which is Ron Howard’s “Rush,” starring Chris Hemsworth (pictured). The company plans to announce additional investments leading up to the American Film Market in November.
