Election 2012: Obama Heads to Twitter to Celebrate Re-Election

President Barack Obama won re-election and he and his team are tweeting the victory

Barack Obama was reelected to a second term Tuesday night — and quickly turned to Twitter to celebrate.

"We're all in this together," he tweeted from his official account, @BarackObama,  indicating that he wrote it by signing with a "-bo." "That's how we campaigned, and that's who we are."

Moments later, 16 characters said it all.

"Four more years," said the tweet, paired with a photo of the president hugging First Lady Michelle Obama.

That tweet was retweeted nearly 365,000 times and was favorited more than 125,000 times within an hour.

Earlier, Obama thanked his supporters.

"This happened because of you," a tweet at 11:14 p.m. ET read. "Thank you."
