Electus International Acquires Global Distribution Rights for 3D Documentary ‘Jerusalem’

The 45-minute film narrated by Benedict Cumberbatch is currently playing in approximately 30 of the most visited museums and science centers in the world

Electus International has acquired global distribution rights for award-winning giant screen documentary “Jerusalem,” including television, SVOD and Home Video, the studio announced Monday.

The film takes audiences on a tour of one of the world’s oldest cities, which was destroyed and rebuilt many times over the course of 5,000 years. Three young Jerusalemites and their families, who are Jewish, Christian and Muslim, will discover what it means to call the ancient city home.

“‘Jerusalem’ is an unprecedented look at one of the world’s most iconic cities, told through breathtaking, visually stunning filmmaking,” said John Pollak, President of Electus International. “The filmmakers worked for years with government ministries and community leaders to gain rare access to the most sacred places of all three religions and became the first team in many years to capture aerial footage of the Old City and the Holy Land.”

The 45-minute film, narrated by Benedict Cumberbatch, is currently playing in approximately 30 of the most visited museums and science centers in the world. “Jerusalem” was awarded Best Film and Best Cinematography at the 2014 Giant Screen Cinema Association Achievement Awards.

The film was produced by Taran Davies and George Duffield, founders of Cosmic Picture. “Jerusalem” was written and directed by Daniel Ferguson.

FilmBuff will distribute the documentary on major on-demand platforms. MPI Media group will release the film on DVD and Blu-ray. The company will be selling the film at MIPCOM.
