Emilia Clarke Says She Shot Daenerys’ Final ‘Game of Thrones’ Scene – and ‘It F—ed’ Her Up

“I’m doing all this weird s–t. You’ll know what I mean when you see it,” Clarke says of “GoT” Season 8

You’d think after everything Emilia Clarke has done over the last seven season of “Game of Thrones,” it would be impossible to rattle her. But creators D.B. Weiss and David Benioff managed to do it one last time with Daenerys Targaryen’s final scene.

In an interview with Vanity Fair published Wednesday, Clarke revealed that, though there is still a lot of filming and post-production work to be done on the HBO series’ final season before it airs in 2019, she has filmed her character’s final on-screen moments.

“It fucked me up,” Clarke said. “Knowing that is going to be a lasting flavor in someone’s mouth of what Daenerys is…”

Oh. My. Lord. Of. Light. What did they do to Dany?!?

Clarke gave out very few details on Season 8 — probably because she’d be murdered by the Unsullied if she said the wrong thing — though she did reveal she’s “doing all this weird s–t” in the remaining episodes. “You’ll know what I mean when you see it.”

The Mother of Dragons also said she’s been keeping a daily journal throughout the final installment, which is her main way of capturing the end, as cell phones are banned from the set for security reasons. Yeah, no selfies allowed. However, Clarke has been able to get set photographer Helen Sloan to take a few behind-the-scenes pics for her, with Clarke hinting to Vanity Fair the journal and photos could be available to “GoT” fans at some point.

“Game of Thrones” Season 8 will premiere on HBO in 2019.
