Emma Roberts Gives New Meaning to Hell Week in Gruesome ‘Scream Queens’ Trailer (Video)

Lea Michele, Ariana Grande, Nick Jonas and Jamie Lee Curtis also star in Ryan Murphy horror comedy

Pledging a sorority has never been quite as scary as it is in the full-length trailer for Fox’s new horror comedy “Scream Queens.”

The Ryan Murphy anthology series stars Emma Roberts and Abigail Breslin as the resident mean girls at Kappa Kappa Tau, with Lea Michele, Skyler Samuels and others as new pledges. The hazing is on, but that soon takes a back seat to real horrors when a devil mask-wearing assailant begins hunting down the girls one by one.

And the mystery killer loves doing it in gruesome ways, with Kill No.¬†1 being the severing of a pledge’s head with a lawnmower.

The new trailer also introduces a backstory, with a mysterious murder that happened at the sorority house decades earlier — perhaps a cause for revenge for whoever the killer may be.

Murphy created “Scream Queens” and will serve as writer and executive producer. He¬†previously co-created “Glee” for Fox, which also starred Michele, and “American Horror Story,” currently entering its fifth season on FX. Murphy will also executive produce and write the upcoming anthology drama “American Crime Story.”
