Emma Thompson Says Trump Once Asked Her Out: ‘I Didn’t Know What to Do’ (Video)

Actress says she wish she had accepted the offer: “Think of the stories!”

“Beauty and the Beast” star Emma Thompson claims she once was asked out by Donald Trump.

“I was doing a film called ‘Primary Colors’ with John Travolta in Hollywood and I was in my trailer and it was on the Universal lot and I had just been divorced,” the actress said during a recent appearance on the Norwegian-Swedish talk show, “Skavlan.”

“The phone rings in my trailer which it’s never done before … I lift up the phone, ‘Hi, it’s Donald Trump here!’” she continued. “I said, ‘really? Can I help you?’ and he said, ‘I wondered if I could offer you some accommodation in one of my Trump Towers? They’re really comfortable!’”

When Thompson asked Trump why he was offering her a place to stay when she had a perfectly comfortable trailer, he allegedly responded, “well, you know, I think we would get on very well. Maybe we could have dinner sometime!”

“I didn’t know what to do with myself!” Thompson said of the experience. “I was on my own and I said, ‘I’ll get back to you!’” She then made a gesture suggesting she hung up quickly, and never got back to the media mogul.

“So, you never did this?” host Fredrik Skavlan clarified.

“I wish I had,” Thompson said. “Think of the stories!”

In response, the other guests on the show told her that she could have been the First Lady and she could’ve “stopped him.”
