‘Evil’: Something Sinister Hunts Katja Herbers in Teaser for Upcoming CBS Series (Video)

Horror mystery series from Michelle and Robert King also stars Mike Colter

“The Good Fight” creators Michelle and Robert King are set to explore their dark side with “Evil,” an upcoming CBS series that got its first teaser on Sunday.

Starring “Luke Cage” star Mike Colter and “Manhattan” star Katja Herbers, “Evil” has a logline that looks like “X-Files” meets “The Exorcist.” The series follows a priest-in-training, a skeptical psychologist, and a carpenter who investigate the Church’s backlog of unexplained mysteries, including supposed miracles, demonic possessions and hauntings. Their job is to determine whether there is a logical explanation for each case or if there’s a supernatural force at work. Along the way, they begin to examine the nature of evil itself.

The 30-second teaser, which you can watch in the clip above, shows Herbers and Colter interrogating someone handcuffed and chained to a table. But the suspect doesn’t seem to be paying attention to them, rattling his handcuff chains in a rhythm that echoes through the rest of the teaser. Later, Herbers lies in her bed at night, eyes wide open as a demon suddenly appears at her feet.

The Kings will serve as executive producers on the series, with Robert King directing the pilot. The series, to debut during the 2019-2020 season on CBS, also stars Aasif Mandvi, Michael Emerson, Brooklyn Shuck, Skylar Gray, Maddy Crocco and Dalya Knapp.
