Former Disney Channel star Caroline Sunshine, 22, is joining the White House staff as a press assistant after completing an internship.

“Caroline Sunshine was a White House intern. In college, she was involved with the American Enterprise Institute and an active member of her school’s Model United Nations team,” White House spokesperson Lindsay Walters said in a statement to CNN Tuesday.

“Prior to her internship at the White House, Caroline interned for the Office of House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy, the College Republican National Committee and the California Republican Party,” Walters said.

Sunshine is best known for her role as Tinka Hessenheffer opposite Zendaya and Bella Thorne on the Disney Channel dancing show “Shake it Up,” which ran from 2010-2013.

Reps for Sunshine and the White Hosue did not immediately reply to TheWrap’s request for comment.
