TCA: No ‘Gossip Girl’ Cameo for Anna Wintour

Notorious Vogue editor-in-chief won’t be in ‘Gossip Girl’s’ episode that features her magazine– but she did read the script

Season four of The CW's teen hit "Gossip Girl" includes an episode that features the annual New York City "Fashion's Night Out" event and Vogue magazine– just don't expect a cameo from legendary editor-in-chief Anna Wintour.

"Gossip Girl" executive producer Stephanie Savage told TheWrap about Wintour's participation (or lack thereof) outside of the Beverly Hilton where she appeared on a panel at The CW's annual TCA summer press tour presentation.

"Gossip Girl" follows the lives of students at an exclusive private school in New York City. The first two episodes of the show's upcoming season were shot in Paris.

Once the show returns to New York, there will be an episode featuring the annual Fashion's Night Out event in which couture bible Vogue will play a prominent role. Savage told TheWrap that the magazine's editor-in-chief, Anna Wintour won't make an appearance in the episode.

In fact, Savage said she "didn't ask" Wintour, who served as the inspiration for the tyrannical editrix in "The Devil Wears Prada," about making a cameo. Perhaps she was intimidated by Wintour's infamous temper.

Season four of "Gossip Girl" begins Sept. 13.
