‘Exorcist Directors Cut’ Turning Heads in Theaters

The horror classic will screen one-night only in advance of its DVD release

In addition to the movie, never-seen on-set footage and interviews with director William Friedkin, writer William Peter Blatty, actress Linda Blair, and other cast and crew will be screened.

“The Exorcist," widely regarded as a horror classic, caused a sensation when released in 1973 and is still considered one of the most successful feature films of all time. It earned 10 Academy Award nominations, winning for best adapted screenplay and best sound.

Presented by NCM Fathom and Warner Home Video, in association with CHUD.com, "The Exorcist Extended Director’s Cut" will appear in 457 U.S. theaters.

“The Exorcist” will be available Oct. 5 from Warner Home Video on Blu-ray in a two-disc, high-definition set featuring both the original and extended versions.
