Star-Lord is determined to save the galaxy… how he’s going to do it, though, remains to be seen, since he only has about 12 percent of a plan in place in this new extended footage for Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy.”

The Disney-owned studio released this new look at its wild sci-fi comic epic on Monday night, following an IMAX theater-hosted sneak preview of 17 minutes of footage from the film. It looks every bit as insane as advertised.

Star Chris Pratt is in command here as Star-Lord, the accidental hero, while Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper (voicing Rocket Raccoon) and Vin Diesel (as Groot, the tree) join him for the wild ride… even if they aren’t 100 percent confident in his 12 percent of a plan.
The film hits theaters on August 1, and advanced tickets just went on sale on Fandango, which posted the extended look footage.
