“We Love Movies,” an original video series celebrating the joys of moviegoing, will be the centerpiece of Fandango’s largest promotional campaign ever, the online ticket broker said Monday.

Cultural influencers outside the film industry will be featured in the series, which begins on May 6 and will be shown on Movieclips, the No. 1 content channel on YouTube; and Hulu, Roku and Samsung’s Milk Video Service.

Athletes, musicians, TV personalities, innovators and others share meaningful movie memories in the series. Among the films spotlighted are “The Sound of Music,” “Rocky,” “Finding Nemo,” “The Spy Who Loved Me,” “The Naked Gun,” “Purple Rain,” “National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation” and more.

The show’s first guests will include NBA All-Star Dwight Howard, Grammy Award winner Reba McEntire, skateboarding icon and X Games gold medalist Tony Hawk (photo top), five-time heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield, award-winning TV host Larry King, rock legend Slash, TV personality Shaun Robinson, and rock and country music artist Darius Rucker.

The summer-long campaign also will feature celebrity pro-social events, VIP movie screenings, summer festival sponsorships, social media activations and widespread television advertising.

Fandango will also be giving away a year’s worth of free movie tickets every day throughout the summer as part of a “We Love Movies” sweepstakes.
