After months and months of Eddie Redmayne‘s mug, Warner Bros. decided to let a few of the creatures from “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” out of the bag.
At San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday, Redmayne turned up with an official trailer that takes us to a new place in J.K. Rowling’s “Harry Potter” universe.
It costars Colin Farrell, Catherine Waterston and Jon Voight and introduces Redmayne’s character, Newt Scamander, who is a scientist on a global excursion to find and document an extraordinary array of magical creatures. The story leads us through the discovery of what Scamander is hiding in his briefcase: a ghastly white dragon-ish thing, a colorful, flamboyant sort of humming bird and a vicious-looking black reptile are among the fantastic things at the heart of the film.
“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” is based on a book of the same name by Rowling, which was a mock textbook about enchanted beings within Harry Potter’s world. In the “Harry Potter” series, the book was required reading for Hogwarts students.
Tim Lewis is executive producing. Rowling is also serving as a producer, along with Neil Blair, David Heyman, Steve Kloves and Lionel Wigram.
“Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” will debut in theaters on Nov. 18, 2016.

Justin Timberlake is arguably the biggest global star at the Con. JT is so famous that he and co-star Anna Kendrick got to keep their shoes on while plugging "Trolls" on the IMDb yacht.

Inside, this clique had all the gravity: Walton Goggins, Michael Chiklis, and Danny McBride. Goggins, who first broke out next to Chiklis on "The Shield," and the teflon McBride have been on a full throttle promo tour for HBO's "Vice Principals."

Thursday night's hot party was Nylon at Omnia, the San Diego outpost of the Vegas hotspot home to Calvin Harris, Chuckie and other big DJs. At Comic-Con, "Game of Thrones" actor Kristian Nairn (Hodor) spun the party, rebranding his set as "Rave of Thrones."

Branded activations are alive and well. As the industry keeps pushing Troye Sivan towards stardom, one candy company is sweet on him, too. He sold out Wednesday's show within five minutes of tweeting about it.
