Fifth Harmony, Becky G and R5 to Perform on Radio Disney Music Awards (Video)

The 2014 ceremony returns to Nokia Theatre L.A. Live in April

The 2014 Radio Disney Music Awards will return to Nokia Theatre L.A. Live on Saturday, April 26 and air on Sunday, April 27 in a one-hour special on Disney Channel.

Becky G, Radio Disney’s “N.B.T.” (Next Big Thing) featured artist and RCA/Kemosabe Records’ recording artist, made the announcement on Thursday’s “Morgan & Maddy in the Morning” on Radio Disney. Watch it above.

Becky G, Epic Records’ and “The X Factor” alums Fifth Harmony and Hollywood Records’ R5 are the first performers to be announced with more to come.

“We’re excited to announce the return of the Radio Disney Music Awards for its second year and the opportunity to grow its reach with Disney Channel’s special broadcast highlighting all of the best performances and moments from the show,” said Radio Disney’s vice president of programming and general manager, Phil Guerini, in a statement.

The 2014 RDMAs will celebrate the best in kid and family-friendly music and recognize this past year’s favorite artists as voted on by the Radio Disney audience. Tickets are currently on sale at AXS.com.

Award categories include “She’s The One – Best Female Artist,” “They’re The One – Best Group” and “So FANTastic – Fiercest Fans,” among others. It will also award its “Heroes For Change” honor to kids across the antion in recognition of their efforts to make a difference in their communities.

This year’s ceremony will be preceded by a week-long live event tour called “On The Road to the RDMAs,” which will feature performances, games, activities and a chance to vote via an interactive kiosk for RDMA winners.
