Verizon and the Disney and ESPN Media Networks Group entered into an agreement to continue and increase services for FiOS customers, it was announced today.
Subscribers will retain the Disney and ESPN channels they already receive and gain access to new services, including ESPN Goal Line, ESPN 3D, Disney Junior, mobile programming and live online streaming of several ESPN networks.
"We are tasked with helping our affiliates grow their businesses on multiple platforms, and this deal reflects that. With new broadband and on-demand services, Verizon FiOS TV subscribers will have better access than ever to our vast array of content," said Disney and ESPN Media Networks Group's David Preschlack.
New services include Disney Junior, a new network debuting in 2012, and ESPN Goal Line, a highlight channel arriving on Oct. 9.
Other highlights of the deal include various ESPN channels streaming over the internet and Disney programming available on Verizon mobile devices.
