Hopkins plays a former doctor with psychic abilities who is called in to help the FBI catch a serial killer (Farrell), who also seems to have supernatural abilities since he’s consistently one step ahead of the authorities.
Afonso Poyart directed the Eden Rock Media production executive produced by Hopkins, Sean Bailey, Jacob Pechenik and Gerd Shepers.
The film was set to be distributed by Relativity Media, which filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy last week. After months of scrambling to fulfill a $320 million debt obligation to a group of lenders led by New York-based Anchorage Capital, CEO Ryan Kavanaugh filed for Chapter 11 protection.
As a result, a number of films that were supposed to be distributed by Relativity are up in the air. It is not certain what will happen to films like “Collide” and “Kidnap,” although the studio has said it plans to go forward with the Oct. 9 release of “Masterminds,” starring Kristin Wiig and Zach Galifianakis.
As TheWrap previously reported, however, “Solace” remains in play at the troubled studio, along with Kate Beckinsale drama “The Disappointments Room” and “Collide,” the action thriller formerly known as “Autobahn” starring Felicity Jones and Nicholas Hoult.
