FishBowl Worldwide Media CEO Bruce Gersh to Exit; No Plans to Replace Him

Gersh co-founded the company with "America's Funniest Home Videos" creator Vin Di Bona

FishBowl Worldwide Media CEO Bruce Gersh will leave the company he has run for four years when his contract ends, the company announced on Tuesday. Gersh co-founded the company in January 2010 with "America's Funniest Home Videos" creator Vin Di Bona.

There are no immediate plans to replace Gersh, and the company buried that news in a press release about a series of other promotions, which FishBowl Chairman Vin Di Bona deemed streamlining.

“Working with Bruce has been an exciting experience," Di Bona said in a statement. "His vision and hard work have helped establish a next generation studio, launching FishBowl in television and the digital marketplace and creating a 21st century system for optimizing our AFV library.”

The company promoted Beth Greenwald to President of Creative Affairs, filling a hole left by the recent departure of Susan Levison. She left for VH1. Greenwald will oversee both scripted and unscripted programming for the company, and inherit some of the responsbility Gersh now has.

FishBowl has created several new TV shows, including “Upload with Shaquille O’Neal” for TruTV and “OffBeat for Fuse.” It has also leveraged its massive library of user-generated clips from “America’s Funniest” Home Videos” to program several channels on YouTube, most notably pets channel Petsami.

Di Bona announced three other promotions on TUesday. Paul LaPointe, who had been the company's chief financial officer, will now be an EVP and chief operating officer. He will be in charge of day-to-day operations, foreign production and distribution.

Kelly Nash, previously director of development, will now be vice president of development. Kevin Bloom has joined FishBowl as head of production.
