“Flip or Flop” star Christina El Moussa has ended it with her boyfriend Doug Spedding, In Touch reports.
The HGTV personality has broken up with Spedding, who has entered a rehab program to deal with addiction issues, In Touch reported Wednesday.
According to the magazine, El Moussa split with Spedding after she discovered that he was meeting with an ex-girlfriend and had been taking drugs. In Touch noted that Spedding was arrested in 2011 after being caught in possession of methamphetamine, and completed a diversion program.
An individual familiar with the situation told TheWrap that El Moussa “supports Doug’s decision to seek treatment and remains in contact to support his recovery.”
In an Instagram post Tuesday, El Moussa wrote, “People can impact you in different ways … the important ones enter your life for a reason a season or a lifetime,” adding, “#keepthefaith.”
The message was accompanied by an image bearing the words, “There is no shame in beginning again, for you get a chance to build bigger + better than before.”
El Moussa and her estranged husband and “Flip or Flop” co-star Tarek El Moussa announced The El Moussas announced the separation in December, months after a May incident during which law enforcement responded to a report of a “possibly suicidal male with a gun.” The call was made after Tarek retrieved a gun from the couple’s Orange County, Calif., home and wandered into Chino Hills State Park in Southern California.
Tarek told deputies that he headed to the park to “blow off some steam,” and that he brought the gun with him as protection against mountain lions and rattlesnakes.
