‘It’ VR Experience Lets You Float Through the Sewers of Derry With Pennywise (Video)

Film adaptation of Stephen King’s famous clown horror novel hits theaters Sept. 8

Not like you ever wanted to, but you can now float through the sewers of Derry alongside Pennywise the Clown in a virtual reality trailer for the upcoming horror film, “It.”

In the experience, you start out on the streets of Derry and later sneak through the sewers below. There are decent jump scares packed in, especially with sudden cameos of the iconic monster himself — and when you don’t see Pennywise, you can hear him.

There are plenty of reminders that “you’ll float too” — especially at the end when the audience gets roped up in a bunch of red balloons and floats up s sewage canal, only to come extremely close to Pennywise again.

For those who feel a VR experience isn’t enough to get them excited for the movie hitting theaters next month: you can step into the real-life Neibolt street house in Hollywood. It is a free experience and is open to the public from Aug. 14 to Sept. 10.

The kids who get threatened by the diabolical clown in the upcoming film are played by Finn Wolfhard, Jaeden Lieberher,  Jack Dylan Grazer, Wyatt Oleff, Chosen Jacobs and Jeremy Ray Taylor.

Bill Skarsgard will star as the iconic monster, first played by Tim Curry in the TV adaptation.

Andres Muschietti is directing the film.

“It” arrives in theaters Sept. 8.
