‘The Following’s’ Natalie Zea Joins CBS’s ‘Under the Dome’

The actress will appear in a multiple episode arc on the new series

"The Following" star Natalie Zea will be stirring up trouble on CBS's new series "Under the Dome."

Zea will make her first appearance of a multiple episode arc on Episode 9, a CBS representative told TheWrap.

"She plays Maxine, and if you think [the show's big baddie] Jim Rennie (Dean Norris) is trouble, you haven't seen trouble yet. And she'll be connected to a number of our characters," executive producer Neal Baer told TV Guide Magazine, which broke the casting news.

In case you're wondering how a new character could appear on the show midseason when the dome's occupants are stuck inside and everyone else is unable to enter, Baer has an explanation.

"Once you're stuck under the dome, casting is fairly limited because people can't get in," he said. "But that doesn't mean there might not be somebody hiding out."

The series based on Stephen King's novel of the same name premieres Monday, June 24 at 10/9c.

Zea's credits include FX's "Justified," Showtime's "Californication," HBO's "Hung" and ABC's "Dirty Sexy Money."
