CNN, NBC Alum Campbell Brown Blasts Roger Goodell: Paid $44 million to Say ‘La, La, La’

Says the NFL Commissioner “doesn’t want to know that Ray Rice beats his wife”

Guest anchoring on Bloomberg’s “With All Due Respect” Monday, former CNN anchor Campbell Brown had harsh words for NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.

“We let the NFL off the hook, and I blame more than anyone in this whole thing Roger Goodell,” Brown said. “This guy gets paid $44 million dollars a year to walk around and say, ‘La, la, la, la, la.”

Brown claimed Goodell “doesn’t want to know if Ray Rice beats his wife” and doesn’t want to get involved with the most recent NFL scandal — “Deflategate” — involving the under-inflation of 11 out of 12 balls the New England Patriots used in the AFC Championship game against the Indianapolis Colts last week.

“He wants to avoid the whole thing — he’s the one who needs to pay a price,” Brown concluded.

Deflategate has dominated sports media — and last week, news media — in the buildup to Super Bowl Sunday on Feb. 1st.
