NBC and Fox have both locked in their New Year’s Eve plans.
Fox has decided to brand its coverage with Billboard, launching "Billboard’s New Year’s Eve Live." The special — no host or musical guests yet — will air from 11 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
The special will feature festivities from New York and Las Vegas, while counting down the year’s top 10 in movies, music and TV. Fox and Billboard have teamed in the past for the Billboard Music Awards.
Bob Bain will executive produce the special.
Meanwhile, NBC will once again let "Last Call" host Carson Daly handle its coverage of the midnight hour, with Green Day just booked as a musical guest on the network’s special. "NBC’s New Year’s Eve With Carson Daly" will start in primetime at 10 p.m., then continue at 11:30 after local news.
ABC hasn’t announced its plans yet, but the network has a deal in place with Ryan Seacrest to host the awkwardly-titled "Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest" through 2010.
