Fox Cancels ‘Son of Zorn,’ ‘Making History,’ ‘APB’

Freshman shows get the axe as network heads into upfronts

Fox has canceled three freshman series: drama “APB” and comedies “Making History” and “Son of Zorn.”

The decision comes ahead of the network’s upfront presentation in New York next week, where they will announce their 2017-18 lineup.

The cancellation comes days after Fox gave the axe to supernatural drama “Sleepy Hollow” after four seasons and the Morris Chestnut drama “Rosewood” after two seasons. The network has also canceled freshman baseball drama “Pitch,” starring Kylie Bunbury and Mark-Paul Gosselaar.

Fox is set to unveil its complete fall programming slate at its upfronts presentation to ad buyers next week, including which existing shows will return and which pilots will be picked up to series.

Of the new series set to debut 2017-18 season, Fox has given the greenlight to medical drama “The Resident,” supernatural comedy “Ghosted” and workplace sitcom “LA to Vegas.”

Series already renewed by the network include Lee Daniels’ “Empire” and “Star,” “Gotham,” “Lethal Weapon,” “Lucifer” and comedies “Last Man on Earth” and “The Mick.”
